Pain is unfortunately a part of many people’s daily lives. We ignore it most times willing it to go away on its own – but beware, it could become chronic. Here are a few ways to manage and control your pain:
• Before you visit the physician, keep track of your pain for two weeks at least - make a note of when it happens, what makes it better or worse. That way you will be able to give the doctor a better and faster way of figuring out what the real problem is.
• Try hot or cold packs for 20 minutes every day to see if it helps.
• Acupressure/reflexology or massage may help too.
• If you’re already using pain medication, consult with your doctor if you can take it earlier in the day to stay ahead of the pain.
• If your pain gets worse with a lot of activity, set aside a little time to take a break and rest every day.
• If nothing helps, consult a pain specialist.
• Follow through totally with what your doctor orders.
