Max Bupa inspires Surat to Walk for Health

·       Max Bupa Walk for Health is a first of its kind 33 day walking event in India that aims to inspire Indians across 15 cities including Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Jaipur and Delhi to walk regularly.

·       After successfully completing the walk in Mumbai and Pune, the Max Bupa Walk for Health initiative, led by professional race walkers, has reached the city of Surat.

Surat, January 19, 2016: After successfully encouraging thousands of families in Mumbai and Pune, n the 4th edition of Max Bupa Walk for Health led by professional Indian walkers, has reached the city of Surat. Max Bupa is hosting a 33 day walking event that will touch 15 cities including Mumbai, Pune, Surat, Ahmedabad Jaipur and Delhi. The first of its kind walkathon in India by Max Bupa, is being led by a contingent of professional walkers who have represented India in Asia as well as globally at the Olympics.  The walk ambassadors covered the 450 kilometer distance from Mumbai to Surat in 9 days and inspired millions of onlookers through stopovers at various city landmarks like Juhu, Panvel, Lonavla, Vasai, Manor, Tasalsari and Valsad.  The walkers will touch people across Kamrej, Ankaleshwar, Karjan, Dhumad, Anand, Mahemdabad, before reaching the city of Ahmedabad on January 24. After motivating the people of Gujarat, the walk will move to Rajasthan and reach the city of Jaipur on February 7, followed by Delhi, the final destination, on February 14.

The Max Bupa Walk for Health event, now in its fourth year, has engaged over 60, 000 Indians from all walks of life and age groups, to take a step towards a healthier lifestyle. This year, the event aims to motivate 30, 000 Indian families across cities, towns and villages to incorporate more walking into their daily lifestyle. The event was flagged off in Mumbai on January 10 and saw participation by 10, 000 families and people from all walks of life. The fourth edition of the initiative was supported by celebrities Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur, who flagged off the 33 day walkathon in Mumbai on January 10^th. The initiative has already generated a lot of buzz across all mediums including social media channels like Facebook and Twitter.
