GET YOUR CARDIO: JUMPING JACKS
Thinking of jumping jack instantly takes you back in your childhood days, but not many of us know that this is one of the best cardio exercises that you can do at home. It is a fun whole-body exercise that not only lifts your mood but opens up your muscles to make you feel all the more energetic.
To perform jumping jack, stand with your hand on your sides, jump by raising your arms and opening up your legs. While landing makes sure you land on the balls of your foot. You can start with 3-5 minutes of jumping jacks to get you energized.
BUILD YOUR CORE: PLANKS
For those who want to build up their core muscles, the plank is the best that they can do. Perfect for those who don’t have time, this exercise makes you incredibly flexible, helps reduce weight, reduces back pain and gives you a toned belly. To perform a plank, stay in the push-up position, but instead of pushing it towards the floor. Hold it off the ground and stay. Start off with 30 seconds and increase the duration as you practice more.
EXERCISE THOSE LEGS: LUNGES
Lunges are the easiest exercise one can do, and the best part is, that they show instant results for toned legs. Everybody must have done lunges once in life, knowingly or unknowingly. Getting down on one knee, is also a lunge, technically. It is a single-leg exercise that helps you work on your hips, and inner thighs also improve your lower strength.
To perform lunges, step forward with one leg and lower your hips such that both your knees are at a right angle. Your knee and ankle should be aligned straight making sure your other knee doesn’t touch the floor as you push your weight forward.
FAT BURNER: JUMP ROPE
Jump Rope is an excellent fat burner that can be done anywhere. All you must do is find the right length of rope for you and start skipping. It gives your shoulders a sculpted shape and can help you burn more than 100 calories in just 10 mins or less.
To skip rope, jump a few inches high and slip your rope beneath your feet. Make sure only upper half of your foot touches the floor. That’s it. It’s really that simple and so much fun!
CARDIO AGAIN: BURPEES
It is one of those exercises that do not require any equipment but affect your entire body and help give you great cardio. To do a burpee, squat down. Kick your feet back, do a push-up. Jump to your original position and stand up again. Repeat the same multiple times. 5-10 times is more than enough to start with.
